Zelda is an accomplished intuitive healer, and a ritual and visual artist. She has spent over 30 years in the arts as a performer and producer, and she incorporates a multifaceted creative process into her healing work. Zelda’s Body Breathing Healing System ™ was inspired by her lifelong artistic practice and a series of ecstatic experiences.
After cofounding the Fine Line Actors’ Theatre in Washington, DC, Zelda was awarded an Arts Management Fellowship to the National Endowment for the Arts. She designed, created, performed and produced original work in a multi-year series of theatre-based projects, addressing the needs of underserved populations, including the groundbreaking Women’s Prison Project. As an agent and manager for performers, via her agency ZAMO!, Zelda represented a multicultural mix of world-class GRAMMY nominated and JUNO award-winning artists and produced the lauded 2002 “Voices” Festival forum “Presenting Latin Music” at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters annual conference.
Her articles have appeared in Inside Arts magazine, The Washington Post and American Theatre magazine, and her International Conference paper “Sometimes a Tree Isn’t Just a Tree,” was read at the First International linguistic conference in El Jadida, Morocco. She presents her poetry and stories at events sponsored by Zeek magazine, Bluestockings Bookstore, Essentuality at Wow Café, and Dixon Place. She has performed at venues such as Gala Hispanic Theatre, The Fine Line Actors Theatre, Source Theatre, and Writers in Performance at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. She has lectured on the music business at The Field, the Red Tent Women’s Project and the Brooklyn Arts Council, and has led or co-led creative body-based improvisational workshops for Nehirim, the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Neuro-Linguistic Programming Institute, Buckminster Fuller’s World Game Institute, and had a 6-week residency at the Alderson Federal Women’s Prison.
Her “Sacred Staffs” and amulets are one-of-a-kind, and entirely handmade from trees and found objects. Her three-month-long solo exhibition (in honor of Arbor Day), displayed at the Boathouse in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, included a fashion show with her jewelry, and performances using her sacred objects. Sponsored by the Prospect Park Alliance and the Audubon Society, it was viewed by over 8,000 people.

Has received an Honorable Mention Award from the International Society of Acrylic Painters.
